Alice in Escherland

Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing realm of Alice in Escherland! Experience a spellbinding dance spectacle that delves into the surreal escapades of Alice and her extraordinary encounters with peculiar characters like the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat in the fantastical world inspired by the renowned graphic artist M.C. Escher.

With the tremendous success of previous sold-out Alice productions in 2016 and 2018, the Escher jubilee year presents the ideal opportunity to bestow a new name upon this legendary production by De Dutch Don't Dance Division. The optical illusions and symmetries of Escher's famous works come to life on the stage of Amare, both in the set design, as well as the choreography.

Alice in Escherland revolves around Alice's encounters with eccentric characters who lead her into absurd scenes. Discover a unique combination of Alice's timeless adventures in Wonderland and the intriguing art of M.C. Escher.

It’s been said that Escher himself had a copy of the famous Lewis Carroll novel on his nightstand!
