Availability Christmas period
If you pass the auditions, you must be available for the entire Christmas period (including 23 to 30 December). We create two casts: Red and Green. Each cast plays 4 performances and a dress rehearsal. If you are unable to keep this period free, there is no point in coming to audition.
Availability rehearsal days
Weekly rehearsals are held on fixed days depending on the cast colour and/or group: Wednesday (children/ Characters) or Friday (children/ Corps de Ballet). And until 18 October also on Saturdays by everyone. After the autumn break, in addition to the weekly day, rehearsals are held alternately on Saturdays or Sundays per cast colour. This is done according to a pre-established cast colour schedule. So you always have 2 rehearsals per week. The same applies here: if a fixed rehearsal day does not suit you, there is no point in coming to audition.
Start
The first meeting is already on Sunday 28 September. Rehearsals start on Wednesday 1 or Friday 3 October. Except for the youngest group (7 year olds), which only starts after the autumn break.

'The Nutcracker' - our story
After a big Christmas party with all the ambassadors, Amalia van Wassenaar goes to mass in the Grote Kerk with her family. During the sermon, she falls asleep at the stroke of twelve.
When she wakes up, her family has disappeared and she is threatened by scary mice, rats and a terrifying Rat King. Her Nutcracker doll, a Christmas present from her favourite uncle Unico, comes to her aid, but he too, just like her little brother Willem, does not escape the atrocities.
Fortunately, uncle Unico manages to turn the nightmare into a dream. The doll changes into a handsome prince and the Sugar Fairy makes people from all over the world dance. When Amalia suddenly wakes up, she is sitting in the pew again next to her mother, father, little brother and grandma. As they walk home, the snowflakes seem to dance.
Choreography: Thom Stuart & Rinus Sprong
Music: P. I. Tchaikovsky
