Eb en Vloed

The sea is a major source of inspiration for many composers and choreographers, including the six choreographers of this program.

'Eb en Vloed' is a very varied performance featuring both ballet and modern dance set to a wide range of compositions.

From the world-famous choreographer Nils Christe, DeDDDD performs his 'Four Sea Interludes' to the beautiful, eponymous music by Benjamin Britten. Christe created this ballet in 1982 for the Nederlands Dans Theater, and it is now being seen in the Netherlands for the first time in 40 years.

One reprise from artistic director Thom Stuart: his alienating, humorous choreography 'Zilt' , set to a poem by Ilja Leonard Pfeiffer, created for the Zuiderstrand in The Hague in 2017, is finally being shown in theaters.

In addition, there are also two new works by him: the duet 'Seemann' set to music by Nina Hagen/Apocalyptica and a piece for the entire company set to 'La Mer' by Debussy.

Rinus Sprong, co-founder of DeDDDD, returns and creates a choreography to 'Out of the Sea' by Philip Glass.

Resident choreographer Kiran Bonnema will showcase the voice of a new generation, as well as the young, talented dancer/choreographer Edoardo Chirico.
